اصطلاحات و ضرب المثلهای انگلیسی

- grocery store اشاره داره به همون سوپری (بقالی!) هایی که سر کوچتون هست و معمولا هم از شیر مرغ تا جون ادمی زاد توش پیدا میشه! 2- to Hail a cab یعنی تاکسی گرفتن به این صورت که کنار خیابون وایسین و دستتونو تکون بدین یا صدا بزنین که تو ایران هم این کار خیلی رایجه. ---------------------- - دو اصطلاح come in و come on in رو تو فیلم های امریکایی خیلی زیاد میشنوین. هر دو هم معنی هستن و برای وقتیه که از کسی بخواین که بیاد تو. یعنی معنیشون در حالت کلی میشه “بیا تو”. ---------------------- ۱- همگیه شما با کاربردهای would اشنا هستین اما جالبه بدونین که این واژه تو گفتگوهای روزمره یه کاربرد جالب و البته کمی هم گیج کننده داره. به مکالمه ی زیر دقت کنین تا بگم اون نکته ی گیج کننده اش چیه: A: this car keeps breaking down. It’s driving me mad تو جمله ی بالا شخص b نمیگه که ماشینی فروختم بلکه میگه اگه جای اون فرد بود این کار رو میکرد. در واقع انتهای جمله b اینطوریه : if I were you, I would sell that car یعنی من اگه جای تو بودم اون ماشینو می فروختم. می بینین که if I were you حذف شده و تو فارسی هم ما همین حذف رو داریم یعنی مثلا به جای اینکه بگیم ” اگه من جای تو بودم اون ماشینو می فروختم” میگیم : “من بودم اون ماشینو می فروختم” ---------------------- Deal از این جهت واژه ی مهمیه که تو کشور مصرف گرایی مثل امریکا یه واژه ی بسیار پرکاربرد محسوب میشه. اگه راتون به این کشور بیوفته ، بارها و بارها با این واژه رو به رو میشین. مثال:I got a good deal on this cell مثال: فرض کنین که دارین میرین به یه فروشگاه اونجا ممکنه موقع قیمت کردن کالاها ، فروشنده بهتون بگه : you can’t find a good/better deal anywhere مثال: you can buy 2 pants for $10 which sounds like a good deal خب پس بیاین اینطور نتیجه بگیریم که: A good deal: a good price or offer ادامه مطلب طبقه بندی: اصطلاح انگلیسی با ترجمه، برچسب ها: استفاده از اصطلاحات کاربردی و عامیانه، اصطلاحات پر کاربرد، حالا یه چیز جالب! با chemistry به معنی “شیمی” اشنا هستین. محض اطلاع این واژه می تونه به معنی “حس قوی عاشقانه بین دو نفر” باشه. یعنی وقتی شما مثلا به زیدتون! میگین I don’t have any chemistry with you anymore یعنی “من دیگه هیچ حسی نسبت به تو ندارم” مثال: there’s a real chemistry between me and my wife ---------------------- come to terms with sb/sth: این اصطلاح وقتی در مورد انسان بکار میره یعنی اینکه با کسی با وجود اینکه اون طرف بد خلقه یا بد اخلاقه یا هرچی ، کنار بیاین و در مورد غیر انسان هم همینطور یعنی با موقعیت نه چندان مناسبی کنار اومدن (قبول کردن شرایط بد) ---------------------- be on good/bad/friendly terms with sb یعنی با کسی خوب جور بودن ، با کسی جور نبود ، رابطه ی خوبی نداشتن مثال: Tim’s still on good terms with his ex * not on speaking terms with sb یا not speaking یعنی با کسی حرف نزدن یا به عبارتی “با کسی قهر بودن” ---------------------- 2- have/get goose bumps : دقیقترین معادل واسه این اصطلاح اینه: “مو به تن ادم سیخ شدن” ، ” کرک و پر کسی ریختن!” مثال: ?Guy 1: Do you think Game is a good rapper Guy 2: yeah, I love his voice. I get goosebumps every time I listen to his songs Guy 3: ya, right on. I get a real buzz outta listening to his music 1: به نظرت the game رپر خوبیه؟ ۲: اره خب من عاشق صداشم. وقتی به اهنگاش گوش میدم ، مو به تنم سیخ میشه. ۳: اره حق با توئه (موافقم). از شنیدن اهنگاش خیلی حال می کنم. مثال: ?A: did you like the movie Saw 6 !B: not at all! It gives me goosebumps every time I think about it. That was so scary A: از فیلم اره ۶ خوشت اومد؟ B: نه اصلن! هر موقع بهش فکر می کنم مو به تنم سیخ میشه. خیلی ترسناک بود.” ---------------------- - تو فارسی وقتی موقعیتی پیش بیاد که مجبور شیم بزنیم زیر قولمون ، میگیم: “من نیستم” یعنی نمی تونم پای قولی که قبلا دادم یا موافقت کردم که کاری رو انجام بدیم ، بمونم. تو انگلیسی هم اصطلاح رایج bow out دقیقا همین کاربرد رو داره. البته نمیشه گفت معنی دقیق این اصطلاح “پا پس کشیدنه” چون “پا پس کشیدن” یا به عبارتی “جا زدن” از روی ترسه اما bow out دلیلش الزاما ترس نیست و می تونه هر دلیلی داشته باشه. مثلا شاید موقعیتی پیش بیاد که مجبور شین خودتونو بکشین کنار. یعنی اینو می خوام بگم که bow out حس نامردیه طرف رو نمی رسونه! چون وقتی می گیم فلانی جا زد ، نامردی اون طرف هم القا میشه اما bow out اینطور نیست. مثال: I bow out: من نیستم (not do sth that I have promised or agreed to do) مثال: Ralph bowed out of the project at the last minute یه مفهوم دیگه ی bow out اینه: “کنار کشیدن” .باید دقت داشته باشین که bow out تو این مفهوم با این ساختار میاد: bow out of sth ---------------------- اگه ما نا خواسته حرفی رو بزنیم که نباید میزدیم ، اصطلاحا میگیم “از دهنم پرید”. تو انگلیسی هم برای یه همچین موقعیتی از slip out استفاده می کنیم.
that/it figures تو گفتگوهای روزمره ی امریکایی کاربرد داره. به این صورت که بگیم اتفاقی که افتاده رو انتظار داشتیم (انتظار یه همچین اتفاقی رو داشتیم) هر چند که شاید مطابق باب میل نباشه. پس تو اون مفهوم منفی بکار میره. حالا یعنی چی تو مفهوم منفی؟ مثال: یه مثال دیگه این بار تو جمله:
